1. Massive Federal Workforce Reductions
One of Project 2025’s main goals was purging the federal government of nonpartisan career officials and replacing them with loyalists.

2. Dismantling the Department of Education
Project 2025 called for the dissolution of the Department of Education, arguing that federal control over education must end.
In March 2025, Trump signed an executive order to start shutting it down — gutting civil rights oversight in schools and leaving states to handle everything individually.
Mass layoffs are underway, and vital programs protecting students' rights and access to education are hanging by a thread.
